DIY for Renters

Renting a place, moving and start living on your own can be great moment. It is the beginning of new life, taking responsibilities and becoming a person that will start own family one day.
However to rent a place is similar but not the same like when you buy one. No matter how good and new it is, surely it will need few things to be done by you after the removal. These slight renovations may not be necessary but everyone will love to bring their spirit to the apartment and make it a home.

It is important when you are a renter to know several tricks which will allow you to add your special touch to the place and at the same time these items to be easily dissembled and put to another apartment you will be renting, in case at some point you want to leave or are forced to do it.

The light is very important for every part of the home, so it is for the kitchen. You can install steel back splash and add few lamps on its top. It will reflect the light in unique way and make the space very good looking. When you do not like the tiles or the counter at the back of the sink and all over the kitchen, you can add your signature, as you decorate it with different vintage postcards. You can also use this idea for the bathroom and make your frescos there, which surely will impress every guest you have over. To make this special motive durable, especially when it is close to a spot that often gets dry, you should cover the cards with a layer of Plexiglas.

Last idea for the kitchen – you can cover the space besides the sink with a chalkboard and draw something on it. This will be both unique and dramatic.
In case you do not like some of the walls in your new spot, you can add several temporary wallpapers wherever you like. They are vinyl-based and that is why your landlord can peel them off, when you leave the place.

Often happens for the first rented place to be not as big in its space as you wish it to be. You cannot build a new room and add it, but you can visually enlarge the space you already have. You can get advices from a designer or you can read one or two magazines and see where it will be best to put mirror back splashes. You will have very nice effect with this, which will surely add depth to the rooms and will make them look bigger than they are in fact.
If you need to free up some space in your home you can find a storage facility near you.
